W.O.S. THERMAL IMAGING CAMERA

The North Wessex Downs Landscape Trust provided funds towards the purchase of a thermal imager for the Wiltshire Ornithological Society,

Skylarks are one of our most emblematic farmland birds with their beautiful distinctive song and display flight, but we know very little about them. Using the thermal imager they can be surveyed and the data will help to understand whether the larks we see in the winter are the same as those which breed in the summer and where the migrating birds are from as this information is currently unknown.
